Michter's Warehouse
Expert Excavation for a Tilt-Up Bourbon Barrel Storage Warehouse
Project Details
Expert Excavation by Earth Works
The Michter's Warehouse project was a tilt-up bourbon barrel storage warehouse. The scope involved mass grading, mass and trench rock removal, plus storm drainage and water, fire, and sewer installations.
A design-build phasing plan created external pour pads for the tilt-up process, reducing mass earth moving requirements to improve site logistics while minimizing overexcavation and rock removal.
Earth Works, LLC utilized advanced equipment and techniques to prepare the foundation, managing multiple facets of construction simultaneously, ensuring a seamless workflow. The company maintained transparent communication and dedication to quality throughout construction, earning client appreciation for professionalism and expertise.
Overcoming Obstacles
Project Challenges
High Rock Presence
Site logistics and schedule requirements coupled with the presence of high rock created significant challenges. The design-build approach helped minimize overexcavation and rock removal needs.
Winter Construction
Much of the work occurred during winter months, complicating productivity maintenance. The team managed multiple facets of construction simultaneously to keep the project on schedule despite weather challenges.
